Hello friends! Happy Spring and Happy Easter Week! I have some pretty flowers for you today! I couldn't resist parking this lovely bunch of roses in my new bag for a few minutes to celebrate the season :)
I know I haven't been around much recently, I'll tell you all honestly, we were going through some health concerns with hubby, but he is on the mend now. It has definitely been one of those times in life that causes one to really evaluate everything we have to be grateful for! We have been around and around with several sets of doctors, and thanks to the good old internet, finally found the right one for us. As frustrating as it was, being our own health advocates certainly paid off in the end. We are looking forward to a nice, relaxing Easter with our daughter and a lovely spring season! I hope you all are as well!
This year I'm just doing a few simple decorations for Easter, not dragging numerous boxes from the attic or complicating life with an elaborate meal. Whatever is around the house is it! So you know that means another chinoiserie holiday :)
I couldn't bear to move the ginger jars after Christmas, so I left them as is and brightened up the mantel with some pretty faux boxwood balls. Stacey and I were blazing a trail through HomeGoods one day and I scored these for only $10 each! Maybe I'll have the real thing someday, but for now these plastic pretties totally work for me.
Thanks to a couple of junkin' outings, my brass candlestick collection continues to grow. I'm pretty sure that whoever donated that twisty one knew exactly what they were doing -- they just decided they couldn't bear to polish the darn thing one. more. time. And yes, Christmas candles in March are all the rage now :))
I'm still having fun changing up the display of extra dishes in this basket! It's so handy to have them right here to set a pretty table.
I'll try to make it back this week with a few super-simple holiday table settings to share with you all! Have a lovely week everyone! xo!

Happy to hear your Hubby is feeling better. Nothing worse than having a family memeber ill. I love the flowers in your purse. Looks like they were made for it.

Well at least you know when you get tired of that incredible fuschia pink purse you have a knock out vase.
Sorry to hear about your hubs being ill scarey isn't it? So glad you found good doctor finally.
Know how I felt when mine had stroke in 2010. When I took him to VA hospital they told me he wasn't in their system. I had been working for over 3 yrs. with 2 different senators to get him back in after VA bounced him out cause he supposedly made too much money, didn't tell him he'd been bounced out. Afraid I wasn't very pleasant when they told me that at admissions. He's in system good now. When I finally got to see him after over 2 hrs in Emergency his blood pressure was still 225/189. I had to quit my job to take care of him. He wasn't a nice patient, lol.
On Dec. 7th. had my shoulder replaced so didn't feel like doing whole lot of holiday decorating would have to dismantle/put away after holidays. Had one box I took couple days to pack up what decorations did have, so much easier. Easter, got few little things at $tree, enuf.
Guess am realizing am 75, had major surgery and maybe give myself a break. Still having problem with range of motion and no more p/t. Hope your Easter is very pleasant, enjoy with your family.

Glad to see you're back, I always enjoy your posts.
Sorry to hear about your husband's health scare and completely understand and appreciate what you've been through with finding the right doctor. My guy has a very serious condition and, for the past 5 years, has changed doctors several times - which I totally support - for various reasons. We've finally landed with one who understands and is willing to work with us. You are right that you must be your own health advocate! Best wishes for his healing.

So nice to see your post in my email today, your posts are always such a lovely bright spot in my day! I so empathize with you about finding the right doctor; heaven knows being able to communicate and trust your doctor can be lifesaving.

So happy that your advocacy helped pair your husband with the right healthcare professionals.
I didn't go all out for Easter because I'm barely treading water over here! But I did decorate our dining room....
Happy Easter and Spring!

RJ

I am so glad you found a doctor-
I know how hard that can be. My husband has a chronic illness and we live in a state of 'new normal'.
Your home is always lovely, and I love the hot colored flowers.
Happy Easter!
