I may have almost just had a panic attack as I typed Week Five.
If you are visiting for the first time, we are making over our kitchen nook and craft area to create a comfortable empty nesters' hangout! On Week One we Made the Decision, on Week Two we Found Shiplap, on Week Three there was Plenty of Shopping, and on Week Four we finally had White Walls and Some Sneak Peeks.
We are making really good progress here, but haven't made it to the finish line with a single one of the projects. Not.One. And Holy Rain, Batman {over nine inches of it the last two weeks!} which has kept me from getting outside to spend quality time with our miter saw.
It's going to be a scramble for the next few days! Maybe some late nights and early mornings, too. I hope there's enough wine left at Kroger to get me through this project ;) Here's what's left on my list --
*Sand/patch/paint shiplap
Almost there! Still patching a few spots and one more coat to go! Can we say four coats of stainblocking primer, yeesh. Two of the walls still need a coat of actual paint. I see a bitter breakup with my paintbrush in the very near future.
*Build table
I'm loving how this is coming out! We have had multiple rain delays, which kept us from getting the saw out of our shed, but we finally made some progress this week.
*Find sideboard/cabinet
I finally had to admit defeat and give up the search for a perfectly-sized vintage cabinet for our little space. But oooh do I have something special in the works instead! Here's a clue:
*Paint vintage lamp
Done! I think I'm in love with this color --
*Buy rods/hang draperies
Still waffling on this, but I have found several that I love. Keeping an eye on the budget before I make my final choice, between pricey, and practical, but still lovely. I think we all know which one I'll choose :)
*Make/find cushions and pillows
Today is sewing day!
*Paint art
Tomorrow is painting day!
*Chandelier???
I found something *fabulous* that arrived just in time! You all know that I am not shy about my chandys, or about some added bling . . . . so here's a little peek
*Rug???
Yes, and yes! Colorful, fun, and indestructible. I'm super happy with what I found!
We have lots of loose ends to tie up this coming weekend, and I'm excited to start staging this room on Monday! Cross your fingers for me that the weather holds out and I have a couple of sunny, pretty days to get some fabulous photos for you all.
Back to work for me! To see the 20 featured designers' progress go here, and I'm linking up with all the other guest participants in One Room Challenge here. Thanks again to Linda at Calling It Home for this great event.
See you next week for the big reveal!!
p.s. Thank you all so very much for your sweet, encouraging messages, both here on the blog and on my Instagram! As much as I have loved doing this project, I am really looking forward to having some free time again to visit and chat with you all. Mwah!!! xoxo, Andrea
Love love love the peeks!

No leeway allowed for your rain huh? Will keep fingers crossed you can get done, as much as you have to at least. I've been known to paint in our kitchen on portable island due to snow when a goal was about to be accomplished. Ya' do what ya' have to do.
I don't do well with limits, tend to panic, hope you're better able to handle that yourself. Wish I could be there to help you do some painting or some thing. Feel bad for you. No kids to help out in a pinch? At least my hubs is home all the time (not always a good thing, 24/7 togetherness, believe me) but it is handy to have him around to vacuum, etc. when company coming.
From looks at sneak peeks you're going to have some pretty snazzy stuff in your room. Can hardly wait to see it all. Take few really big breaths and proceed.
Been looking at photos on side bar, wow, love what I'm seeing, a bit of McKenzie Childs? LOve the burlap with blk/white gingham ribbon on it. Gives me an idea for my kitchen window when i get tired of my curtains. Take care and don't kill yourself. Happy weekend
