I walked out back today and realized that we are down to the last few daylilies.
It's always sad to see them finish. Ours were absolutley wondrous this year, thanks to Stacey, who reminded me that they need to be divided every few years. Apparently ours were really ready, because they have at least tripled in size.
This entire poolside bed came from two small patches that I divided last summer.
All of these came to me as starts from friends. A dear friend once told me that cuttings from friends have special energy, which these lilies really seem to have!
Just look at this beautiful hibiscus that Maurie brought home from Whole Foods.
And these coleus are so happy! This hanging basket was a find on Freecycle. It's gigantic! We bought a small pot of 5 different coleus at Home Depot and divvied them up, gave them plenty of MiracleGro, and they have filled out this huge basket and several other pots. I have actually pinched them back since then and the new cuttings are rooting in our kitchen window. I did the same with these impatiens from last spring. I'll be able to spread these out among several other pots that are still empty.
These showed up in the garden one day too.
Need any? I would be happy to share :)
Hope you are enjoying your garden this year! xoxo, Andrea
Your lilies are beautiful and those kitties are adorable!

Oh I would love to take one of the kitties or the mama. How precious..but really I can't have one.
Your daylilies are beautiful! I do believe that passing plants to and from friends is the way to go. My dad will be moving out of his big old house in a couple of weeks. He's going to share some of the daylilies from his yard which actually came from our yard in Edmond. Isn't that fun?
Did you get some of that rain yesterday? Just a tiny bit here but every little amount helps. Hope you are having a great week. We got the cutest new shop here in Rockwall. You need to come out here and visit it with me.

I love Daylilies! They come in so many great colors. I don't like dividing them though. It's quite a chore if you have a lot. The kitties are cute!

I love the Stella D'Oro daylilies best, Andrea. They seem to bloom for quite awhile and I just love their height and the yellow color. I have had the orange ones at our old house and there are a couple of patches of them here at our condo. One big patch is right where we want to put a patio in, in the front, so I will probably pass them onto my daughter for her yard.
