Thanks so much to everyone for the love on our new painted red cabinets :) Every time I walk in our kitchen, I'm still so happy that we just went for it!
Several of you had emailed and asked what color we used. The sample that inspired our color didn't have a name or formula, but here's a photo of the custom color they mixed for us at Home Depot --
And yes, it only took a quart to paint three coats of red on all of my cabinets. It's a small kitchen, and I only painted the face of the doors and drawers, not the insides, which are already white.
For some reason, lately I cannot make a decision on anything. I'm still hemming and hawing around over the tiny curtain under the sink. Like it's a life-changing decision or something :) Here are the three contenders
But by golly, before the weekend is over I'm going to just gitter done! Then I can move on to any one of the other 20 half-finished projects that I'm undecided on, too. Can I just tell you what a patient man my husband is.
I'll be back tomorrow to finally share some photos of our daughter's college apartment! I got a few snaps last weekend when we visited, they aren't the best but I'll edit them today and see if I can brighten them up a bit. It's pretty darn cute for a college apartment!
Have a happy Thursday y'all!
xoxo, Andrea
Why don't you make a sink skirt out of each of the fabrics and then you can switch them out when the mood strikes? I know...that was not nice from someone who can't sew a lick. :)

Love all your fabric choices there, Andrea. Have you hung the three up on the rod to see how they look next to the cabinet color?
Looking forward to seeing your daughter's new apartment. My son is heading to us since he finished his Masters and will be working in Ohio come August {at one of the colleges here and they don't start until August}. He will stay with us and look for something to rent. I'm sure it will be fun for all of us, since he is used to being on his own now and we are used to having no kids living with us!

I always have a hard time with fabric choices. But I like the plain red and white stripe piece you've showed. My second choice is the mainly white with red and yellow stripes.

Well it is a great shade of red! I love the red and white stripe. Red and white is one of my favorite color combinations!

I love these kitchen cabinets!! I have been thinking about getting some new ones for a while now. My wife has been telling me about her ideas for remodeling our kitchen for three weeks now. I can't wait to surprise her with new kitchen cabinets.
