Back in the 70's I had sourdough starter that I used just about everyday. I had kind of forgotten about it. It makes such wonderful bread and makes me feel connected to those that have passed before us. I got my "start" from a friend. Good luck. It will be interesting to see how you like it long term. xo Diana

No advice except to use lots of butter. :)

I've never done this before, but I read the best book about it….the main character stared out everyday baking fresh bread with sour dough starter. It's called By Bread Alone by Sarah-Kate Lynch. You might like it!

Very cool! I just always remember the part in The Long Winter where Charles says to Ma something about she had her starter going again. I've always wanted to give it a try!

What a great idea! Take pictures of your loaf so we can see how it turns out!

Sam @ My Carolina Kitchen

I am impressed as I've heard sourdough is one of the most difficult breads to make.

WOW! That turned out great. Thanks for sharing this on Tasty Tuesday!

I'd love to make some of that bread. I'll check back for the recipe. It looks divine. Warm. Lots of butter. Can it get any better? haha
