When I showed you all the new wreath I received from Balsam Hill, I didn't include the whole picture. There are a couple of other new things on this feature wall in our living room! Long overdue, we finally found a new table to take the place of the shabby wicker one that used to be here.
This pretty table was a Craigslist find. It's originally from Broyhill, and it's solid wood. The shiny cherry finish doesn't really fit into our home, but since the top is a little damaged, it's the perfect piece for refinishing. What I really love about the table is the scalloped apron. So what do you all think? Sand the whole table and update the stain? Or just refinish the top and paint the apron and legs? Possibly even paint the whole piece? My Great Pieces board on Pinterest shows some different finishes that are quite lovely. I feel comfortable taking a risk on this baby, since I picked it up for a sweet $40!
I had to make a trip to Hobby Lobby for some craft supplies, and was captivated by the pretty lantern. It just had to come home with me! Mercury glass pumpkin found at Big Lots. Love these, and the price too -- $12.99. Go get some :)
This thrift store lamp that I painted last spring will be getting a makeover, too. I'm ready for fall around here, and even lamps aren't safe from a re-do, haha.
The Balsam Hill wreath giveaway is still going on here. I'll close comments on Thursday and announce the winner on Friday morning. To see the selection of wreaths available to the winner, follow the links on the original post, then leave a comment stating which wreath you would choose!

Great table! Of course you should paint it. I liked the table you had in your board that was a blueish green of course with a stained top. I saw those pumpkins at Big Lots last week and almost picked up a couple. I'm hoping they will still have them this Friday...plan to go get them. I liked the tall one they had too.
Love that wreath. I chose a Christmas one. I really wanted a boxwood one but they were out. But I'm having a hard time getting motivated to post about a Xmas wreath.

Your table has beautiful lines. I would probably paint the whole thing. It would be much easier. LOL Your arrangement looks so pretty. Lover your mercury pumpkin.
The wreath in the giveaway is gorgeous. I love yours and would probably choose the same one. Gorgeous work!

Wow it all looks gorgeous ! Not sure what you'll end up doing with your table but I have been thinking of painting mine...it goes behind my couch as part of the dividing the long living room up plan. Thing is..I spent a small fortune on mine years ago at a furniture store. Then a dog knawed on the base ( within two weeks of it being here! ) which I just covered up with some of that fake stain stuff. Later on my grandson broke both drawer knobs! I had bought some supplies and primer to paint an antique cabinet that I got at a thrift store in the spring, yet I put it off, since it is upstairs in the toy room and probably doesn't warrant the work I'd put into it. Now that I see YOUR table I want to go to your board and see what you end up doing in the end as I am still going back and forth about all of this! :)

I just absolutely love everything you showed us today. The table is perfect. I don't know about the painting question...you know that's out of my league but whatever you decide will be great. That lamp is wonderful! Is the shade new? I love it!!

I often like the look of a stained top and painted bottom, but imagine that would be a lot of work. So I'd probably paint it. I love the apron effect as well!

I think it would look great painted, Andrea! Maybe a color that works with other things in this room. It looks like it is a good size and I love the scallops.

Forgot to say...I love that lantern. I can see why you couldn't resist it. I've got quite a collection of lanterns...every time one gets damaged at Pier 1...I buy it at 75% off. I really don't need any more...at least that is what I am telling myself...but that one I talked about on my blog...makes me want another. I'd seen one like it earlier this summer on a blog full of starfish and that made me obsess about it.

That looks beautiful. I painted one that is very similar in lines to yours and put a french detail motif on top of it. I get lots of compliments on it-xo Diana

I would paint the legs and apron, leave the top stained. Absolutely love that look.

Beautiful table! I'm really liking the look of how people paint the bottom part of furniture pieces but leave the top brown and varnished. I'm sure whatever you choose to do, it will look gorgeous.

Hey girl. I had to come back and look at your table again after we talked about it today. That is a great table...you couldn't go wrong with it. If you don't adore the cherry then paint it!!
