When I did my Contributor post at Cozy Little House last week, I showed just one photo of our bedroom bookcase, which had just been revamped.
Well, it's been revamped again. But let me back up --
We built this table and bookcase in an awkward corner of our bedroom last year. It was completely wasted space where we had begun to pile storage bins. Building a table to hide the bins under and shelves to stack cute baskets and boxes for storage seemed like a great idea at the time.
Sometime around the first of this year I restyled the bookcase and realized that I wanted to make it a space for family photos. It worked so well!
But here is a photo from earlier -- the brackets that are holding up the shelves made me crazy! We had meant to add trim to the shelves, but I just couldn't wait for the cutting, painting and installing, so I grabbed some extra ticking and upholstery nails, and just took care of it. In about 10 minutes. Love those kind of projects!
Wait now -- I really meant to write about styling a bookcase today, but I spent too much time in the garden! I had to get the tomatoes, beans and cucumbers planted. We plant very early here in North Texas, to beat the 100 degree temps that can be coming up any time after Memorial Day. How about a bookcase styling post next week? I have lots more photos and ideas to share :)

I love the red ticking edging on the shelves. It adds so much. Of course, I love ticking any time, any place, and any color!

Planted? Aren't you afraid of the freeze. We had one Sunday and Monday night and maybe one tonight. I had to cover my potatoes but they should bounce back.

I want to get outside too. But the doctor put a cast on my leg from knee to toes. So I'm going to be a shut in for three weeks, while all of you dig in the dirt...
