It was such a wonderful weekend. Saturday Maurie and I went to First Monday in Canton. It was gorgeous out, and First Monday was a mob scene. We were so happy for all the vendors out there. We also took some time to drive around the country, enjoying the farm animals and abundant wildlife. I came home with a tiny milk glass hen, a longing for country life, and a sunburn.
Sunday we worked out in the yard almost all day. I'm always just baffled at the amount of clean up that's needed after just a few months of neglect. We hardly made a dent, but the back patio got cleaned up and some winterized plants were pulled out, to get a little sun.
I had a lovely little vignette set up out back for you today, but this morning we woke up to rain! So the cushions and pillows all got stashed back in the garage, and instead I'm sharing a sweet tabletop garden that I made last year. It was made almost entirely from found objects that were around the house. You'll find all the details, and a tutorial about how to put one together for yourself, here.
It's a great project for the wintertime blues :)

That's a beautiful little indoor garden. It really makes you feel like spring is on it's way - even if it was from last year.

I like that! We went to the nursery yesterday and started gathering ideas for our yard. Starting from scratch is a little daunting but we've done it before. I keep reminding myself that beautiful gardens and yards are created.

It's really cute and creative!
I would have to dig under about 8 inches of snow right now to find anything right now.

Love your table top garden - it is so sweet. And I'm so jealous it's warm enough there to work in the garden. We're in the midst of a snow storm.

Very nice and cheery for a gloomy Monday. I, too, went to Canton but on Friday. Not crowded and spent a lot of time "out back" where the junque is. I did go to Laurie Anna's (which I saw here) and really liked it. And, you always have to have a corny dog when you are at First Monday Trade Days.
I came home with a planter, 2 square white plates, Shirley's potpourri refresher oil and a blouse.
It is only a 45 minute drive from the Enchanted Garden here in the piney woods of east Texas!

Gorgeous plant vignette! I can't wait until the warmer weather where I can be playing in my garden. Right now it's buried under several inches of snow. :-(

These are stunning! I am gearing up for the new season. I need to repair my patio table and get a new base for it, but I would love to be able to decorate it with something like this once I have it fixed. Though, I don't have faith I could be as talented as you. Thanks for the inspiration.

Some secret gardens will have unusual and intriguing entry points. Some will be walled in with stone or natural forest surroundings, while others will boast a formal cut hedge.
