It was a gorgeous 50 degrees this morning here in Dallas! What a perfect morning to spruce up the potting bench on our front porch.
I wrote about finding this last fall. It sits right outside my kitchen window, and I love having it decorated for the season. It gives me something to look at when I'm slaving away in the kitchen, haha!
It's so super hard to photograph anything out front here in the city, though. With our neighbors' houses only 12 feet away from ours, something (or someone!) is always photo bombing, and not in a cute way.
There were at least four cars to the north side, and the sun coming up fast to the south, hence the tight and somewhat glarey shots. But with folks walking by and waving hello, I really can't complain, can I? It's the time of year when we will start seeing everyone out. Around here it's like one big family reunion! Somehow, everyone always seems to end up in our front yard :)
So back to the bench. Some pine cones, vintage watering cans, mini pumpkins, and mums in a beat up old galvanized bucket all came together for this vignette. The rusted iron piece was used for displaying necklaces back when I sold jewelry, and now I'm on a mission to find votives for it.
Happy Thursday, and I hope you are looking forward to a fun weekend! Thanks for coming by to see my new display.
p.s. The yellow mums and crotons were found at Aldi, by the way. I really love that place. I think they were $3 and $5 respectively, which has to be the best deal in town.

I can understand why they would all end up in your yard - it is a pretty place and you are very welcoming. Isn't it just a beautiful day? Love it!
I got your message yesterday. We need to meet for lunch. We could also plan a blogger lunch for this area. :)

Andrea - Your potting bench just looks beautiful! No wonder everyone comes to your yard. Hope you have a great weekend. I think we are going to go over into Arkansas to War Eagle Craft Fair and look at leaves. Hopefully.

Your decorations are beautiful. I always love to see what you are doing, and yes if I lived a bit nearer I would end up on your porch too :^)

I would stop and take a look if I were walking by and saw your lovely vignette. What a perfect prop your potting bench is.

That potting bench makes a great place to display seasonal decor outside! I noticed your sweet potato vine is still well. I have some on my front porch and it's slowly thinning out due to the colder temps. I'm hoping it will survive a little bit longer though. I think your pictures turned out great!

I think it would be nice to live in a neighborhood where everyone was friendly enough to wave, with a nice front porch and a potting bench like yours! It must be so much fun to decorate it for the seasons. Linda
