For years now I have coveted a dark, fall-ish crazy quilt to bring out during the cooler months. On our trip to Canton last weekend, my wish finally came true!
Doesn't it have the yummiest combination of colors for fall? A mix of browns and blacks, with touches of gold, green, and even blue. All encased in red crochet, which I so adore.
Want to know how much? $5! I couldn't believe my luck.
When I think of the countless hours that it must have taken to lovingly crochet each of these squares together, it makes me even happier that this sweet blanket ended up here. Where it will be loved again for many years, I'm certain. It's been thoroughly tested out by Minnie, who couldn't wait to christen it the minute we got it home.
Over the summer I had whipped up these cheerful gingham pillows for the newly slipcovered chairs. I really thought they might be too bright for the room this fall, but the quilt fixes all of that. Red, brown, black, fall colors, swoon! The vintage afgan that I found in Canton years ago just takes it all up another notch.
And let me say, that if you're in the mood to make pillows, go the extra step further and add piping. It really adds a custom look. And it's just so easy to do.
You may have noticed something else that's new here. While Abby was working at Pier 1, she picked up these great lanterns for me. They are such a good price y'all, only $15 for the small one and $30 for the large. They are very similar to the ones that Pottery Barn sells for much more. I'm going to have a great time filling these with fall decorations. The boxes are coming down from the attic this weekend, and I can't wait!
There's another newly thrifted treasure on the table too, that I will tell you all about next week. Now at least one corner of the house is redone for fall! Well, almost :)
I hope everyone is having a great day, and thanks so much for coming by to see my new crazy quilt!

Love your quilt. You just may inspire me to do some fall decorating!
Here in the burbs outside of Memphis, it is 98 degrees. I was just mulling over the thought of if I should get the fall decor out for my bunko group next week!

Very nice and cozy but are you sure that is crochet? It looks like embroidery to me.

Love the quilt. Could you possibly post the size of the entire quilt and the size of each square. Is it made from wool fabric? Would love to make one. It's beautiful. Lucky you!
