While the great purge of 2012 continues, I'm slowly rearranging our tabletops and perking up our decor again.
I'm not even sure how many bags have been taken to Goodwill over the last two weeks. Man, teens accumulate a lot of stuff. But now that Abby is about to go to college, we are actually saving some items for her first apartment. I have even caught myself picking up things I know whe will need, in preparation. She definitely won't have to worry about having empty walls or eating on paper plates.
One of the Christmas lanterns made it to this chippy table, and some cheerful plates were hung in the panes of my favorite old window. I wanted to add a little greenery to this vignette, but didn't want to go to the store and buy anything. So I clipped some boxwood, and wrapped these candles with some twine to hold it together. Kinda pretty, don't you think?
We enjoyed having these lit while we watched a movie Saturday night.
Also, I'm thinking about painting that lamp. What do you think? There are much better photos of it here.

Lovely vignette, Andrea! I've been tucking a few faux greens I had laying around in between some things. I love the look of greens and candles in a lantern. I like your lamp; I don't think it needs to be painted, but if you think it needs to be painted that's what matters.

Thanks so much for coming by and pinning to your board!
Your vignette is beautiful. I should twine wrap a candle or three. I had not thought of doing that. Thanks for the inspiration.

So cute! I'm a big fan of the window too. And I like the lantern red, but some paint might be fun - what color are you thinking? I'd love it if you'd share this at my Show & Tell linkup party and giveaway, going on now @ the Delectable Home.

I love the window with the little plates. Very pretty. I also love the candle with the twine. I have some jute in my craft closet. I think I'll pull some out and wrap it around a candle or two.
