Even though we're in the midst of a big, messy project -- doesn't everyone do those right before a holiday? -- we do have a few touches of Valentine's cheer!
These sweet bird plates were given to me by my family at Christmas. I thought they would be perfect for a Valentine's Day breakfast table.
They're from Pier One.
Love birdie salt and peppers are also from Pier One.
The vintage candelabra, again. I know, I use this thing all the time! But I love it, and I don't really have any place to store it, so it might as well sit out and be pretty. This was another First Monday find in Canton, another grungy, dirty gold item from the back fields. It never sold in my shop, and I was so happy about that! It came pre-drilled, so all I had to do after painting it up was add some pretty crystals from Freedom Crystal. It sat outside one year on our back patio, and got a little chippy and weathered, and now has the perfect finish.
Vintage napkins are held in makeshift rings of gingham ribbon.
Holiday tea towels add cheer to the kitchen. My crochet pattern for the hearts is here. I should have posted this way earlier! But for you crocheters, these make up super fast.
The heart garland landed in the kitchen too, because everything else is a mess!
Happy Valentine's everyone!
Love to you all, Andrea

The bird plates are great. I have been shopping at Pier1 lately. They are about to give Anthropologie a run for their money because so many of their designs are similar, but Pier1's pricing is soooooo much better. Your kitchen is too cute for Valentine's Day :D

I love those bird plates. I feel like such a dunce because I have been looking for red accessories for my kitchen and was right near a Pier One and didn't go in. UGH.
This is such a pretty table.

Oh what a pretty table. I hadn't seen your wonderful candelabra before, and I LUV it! If I had that, I'd use it all of the time too. I saw those wonderful bird plates at Pier One and tried to think of a cabinet in my house that had space for them. Unfortunately, I couldn't, so they didn't come home with me. The checked ribbon for napkin rings adds such a touch of fun to the table. Thank you so much for linking this post to my Valentine party. laurie

Hi there!
Happy New Year! It's late and I can't sleep and I just stumbled upon your blog while I was checking my blog. Someone was doing a google search on Valentine's table with bird plates and when I looked at the images, I stumbled upon your beautifully set table for Valentines day, 2011. I have these same plates from Pier One and use them frequently. I also have them in the color green. Just wanted to comment to let you know I stopped by. I'm going to take a look around because we have many things in common and I'm always looking for more inspiration and clever ways to re-purpose or create something new in my home.
