Fall Mantel 2010

It's such a beauitful, sunny, gorgeous fall day here today, perfect for decorating and joining in Marty's Tabletop Tuesday.

 

I have been such an absent blogger these last two weeks, between having company and planning a holiday sale with friends and having a cold. Wish I could say that my whole house looks this done, but that would be a sad mistruth.

 

The only thing on our mantel that really represents fall is this sweet garland of acorns. Well, and maybe the Bordallo acorn plates, but I do use those throughout the year, because they are too wonderful to ever put away. But I think the mix of wicker, red, black and green gives a fallish feel, don't you?

 

 

I shoppped the house on this one - really, there's no need for me to buy anything new, when I have so much, and this mantel will be very short-lived, because I'm ready to start decorating for Christmas!

 

I did get something new today though!! I'm still tweaking it a bit, but can't wait to show you all tomorrow! It's something I have wanted for a really, really long time, something that just screams cottage, that's white, and classic . . . I really want to tell, but I'm saving it for Outdoor Wednesday!! Can you tell that I'm really excited?

Love the mantel...that mirror is the one I've been wanting for my hall. Everything looks so pretty. Love the mix of red, green, white and mercury glass.
