Happy Monday, it’s time for Rhondi’s Porch Party! A rare occasion to see beautiful porches all across blogland. Today I have a few photos of our back patio. We really might have had a party out here, ‘cept for the 145-degree heat index and blazing sun to go along with it. Today, I’m really glad that the party is here indoors, on my laptop with you all.
For the event today, I spruced up the furniture with some new pillows. There’s nothing like a little color and some fresh fabric to really rejuvenate a space! I wanted to use fabrics I already had on hand, and after pulling out my stash, this festive color scheme emerged.
Is there anything that this Country Life toile doesn’t go with?! I can’t even begin to count the combinations that I have used with this fabric. After 15 years of seeing, I still love it every day.
Last winter, our Target gazebo collapsed into a pile of twisted metal during our 12-inch snowstorm, so this year we’re open air. We really like it! We have to do a bit more birdie clean-up now, but we like the open feeling that we have without the canopy. Our furniture that I redid last spring is holding up well, too. You can see how it used to look here.
This is the vintage brick I spoke of in my last post. We salvaged all of it from a neighboring house that was being torn down. Back then our only car was my 2-door Acura, and Maurie hauled this home in the trunk – many, many trunks full, actually. But since these bricks from the 1920s sell for about $1 each, it paid off big! You know, I have never actually counted the bricks on this patio. Maybe I can get my math-genius daughter to do that for me!
Now that we have been at almost 100 every day for two weeks, our flowers are getting a little weary. They just don’t get much of a break, since it’s not going below 80 at night, either. I don’t think I’ll plant much more until it cools down some, so I hope these guys hang in there.
I couldn’t resist a little early July 4th decorating. I’ll have some more festive decorations to show you in the next week, too.
It may have been hot out, but we’re so lucky that we have this
The water’s still only 80! Come on over, we’ll jump in!
Rhondi’s Porch Party is here, at her lovely blog, Rose Colored Glasses. Have fun party-hopping!
Your weather is such a contrast to ours! We have had so much rain and cool weather lately. I really like the prints you used, and wish we could grow caladiums like yours!

Even at 80 the water looks refreshing. It's hot here too. I love your pillows and all the color! My gerbers are also struggling.

I will tell you that no, there's nothing in the world those toile pillows won't spruce and pretty up! I LOVE your outdoor area. I have a Target gazebo I bought about four years ago. Clyde has scratched up the top, but otherwise it's still okay. That's probably because it's in an area that's only a tiny bit bigger than it is. And a tornado would probably have to lift it out.

We're lucky, only about 80 every day this week.

Hi Andrea
The pillows are beautiful and the whole space looks so inviting! It's been hot here too...in the mid 90s so we're not sitting outside either!
Thanks for joining the party!
Hugs, Rhondi

Love your patio and the new fabrics. I swear I had that striped fabric on your couch and I had used it to reupholster some bamboo chairs that we painted black for our summer condo a few years back. It has since sold but I'm sure the furnishings helped to sell it ;} Your pool looks so inviting...we are staying in where it's cool as well here in NC. Have a great week, fondly, Roberta

Your patio is adorable! I love the toile and all the pillows! Just as cute and fresh and festive as can be. Thank you for sharing your garden with us. I love the gerber (sp) daisies and that pop of yellow. It's PERFECT!
I'm a little late to the party. I got held up in a fight with a sling chair. Don't ask! :-)
Happy Porch Party...
XO,
Sheila :-)

Love your brick patio, I have always admired used brick, would like to have a home built out of it.
