I’m finally back!! Sorry, everyone, for being gone so long… but I’ve made it through computer meltdowns, a big Father’s Day sale (for which I had zero prepared inventory), and my entire family having a nasty stomach bug this week. Whew! I’m still a little on the slow side, but I had to rally today for Flaunt Your Red.
I have a couple of red items that are making my heart pitter-pat right now, so here we go –
My gorgeous red daylilies have been blooming like crazy. This plant is a special one, given to me by my friend Lee when she lived across the street.
Our daylilies bloom in a procession of colors: first, the orange, next, the red ones, and last will be the peach color.
Coming up behind them are the colorful Tropicana cannas. More beautiful red.
And while I’ve been convalescing, I broke into my new Contest Favorites - Dishcloths book. Sounds easy, right, dishcloths? Wrong!! My crochet experience is pretty elementary, and this was a challenge. I’m super-glad that I had the chance to practice some of these tricky stitches on something as small as a dishcloth before I challenged myself with a sweater. I made a bunch, and I’ll show the others soon. But here’s the red one --
I like how these pair with my Crazy Granny Collection tea towels.
Found these at the thrift. Aren’t they awesome? They look so real. I’m going to have to be really ornery one day and see if I can fool someone!
Another thrifty treasure. They sit on my kitchen windowsill, and make me smile every morning.
My friend Ashley makes these precious soaps. Of course, I chose the red butterfly. She did a tutorial for The Dallas Morning News on how to make them. They’re thrifty – she buys the soap at Dollar Tree! They are such a great gift item, and would make a good craft project for kids, too.
I’m off now to see the red that everyone’s flaunting! Go here to see for yourself…. Enjoy!
xo, Andrea
