The recent warm – 78! – weather here has me really ready to bring out some spring decorations. The last couple of years I haven’t really been in my spring and Easter groove like I was when our daughter was younger. The appeal of all of her childhood bunny decorations has waned, the magic gone from the egg train, stuffed rabbits and fiber optic Easter tree. (Yes, we really do have one of those, a gift from Grammy, a huge hit with the 4-year-old crowd.) The last comment I recall was, Mom, do we really have to get out all of that baby stuff? My contemporary-retro-modern girl is way too cool to be caught enjoying such childish decorations, so they will stay up in the attic, at least for now….
I managed a spring-ey and Easter-ish display for our armoire/china cabinet, sans the juvenile bunny items. Please forgive the flash reflections! This room is in the center of our house, and even with every light on, it’s always just a little dark in here.
I did use a few rabbit plates, my favorite, Bordallo
Dressed up this thrift store wreath with a pretty ribbon
Little floral plates, also from the thrift
I love the tarnished finish on these silverplated mint julep cups. I filled them with some boxwood sprigs, a little Spanish moss, and…
See who’s hiding in there?
The birdies like their new nest, in a dessert dish.
This was so easy to put together, and you can see that I really didn’t use any Easter items, mostly just everyday things. It’s helpful to have a small collection of plate stands – some of these were purchased at Dollar Tree! It’s a good start to decorating for spring, and one I hope with help you perk up a few areas in your home.
Have a good weekend!
Hi Andrea. Just came over from Comforts of Home to visit. Your springy decorations are beautiful. I can see that we share a love of moss...I love to add it to things. It just changes the look.

The Dollar Tree is a favorite place of mine! Love the Bordallo dishes and the white birds in the dessert dish!

Wow don't you love thrift store when you walk away with something so beautiful. Your shelves are lovely, springy, and just perfect. It's fun taking things that cost a few dollars and making them into a beautiful tablescape, or shelf scape....is that a word? Anyhoo...it looks beautiful! Great post.
Blessings,
Debbie
