What a week it has been. We have had all kinds of unexpected incidents, and all week long I only managed to put together this one small vignette in our bathroom.
Maurie got back in town a couple of days ago after spending a week cleaning out his parents' house. My living and dining rooms are lined with boxes, and we'll be sorting lots of treasures that he brought back, from photo albums, to household goodies, and even his Dad's letter sweater from the 1930s. A couple of quilts that his Dad's mom made and some wonderful enamel pans that were his Mom's are among the treasures. Oh and there's a really special item, that I'll show you all soon, that came back too. I'll give you a hint, it's of the furry variety :)
He loved these old bottles that he found in his parents' basement. I cleaned them up and added a band of gingham ribbon to incorporate them into the new vignette.
So the bigger bathroom project still isn't quite done, but you can see a little peek of it in the left lower corner below.
Hope you all are having a good week, and that your projects are going along a little faster than mine are! I'm joining:
Courtney for Feathered Nest Friday at French Country Cottage
Cindy for Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home
Anita at Cedar Hill Ranch for Cowgirl Up
Dawn's Budget Decorating Party at Creative Cain Cabin

Love your bathroom vignette! Looking forward to seeing the treasures you unpack. Furry? A vintage teddy bear perhaps???
Big Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

What a pretty way to dress up old bottles with the gingham ribbon--great idea, Andrea! I've been so busy this week that I haven't gotten much done, either, and a very busy weekend on the horizon, so I'll be working on projects in fits and starts whenever I can fit it in, it appears. Have a super weekend!

Andrea - It's so bittersweet to go thru things like that! You love seeing and having the remnants of your parent's past, but at the same time, you mourn the loss. You are in my thoughts as you go thru the boxes. Remember the good times.

Pretty! Isn't it nice when things that you actually need and use look great on a shelf? The Burt's Bees looks nice there. :)

I'm sure it will take a while to go through all of those boxes, but it will be fun to see what's in there and how you will use them. Sounds like a new pet is gracing your home now. Can't wait to see him or her!
