This year I really want to keep our holiday decorating a little bit simpler. We have so many boxes of decorations that I can't even put everything out in this tiny house! I'm feeling a bit of a rustic vibe too, and wanting to have a warm, cozy-comfy theme to our decorating this year. And you know me, I want to accomplish this without buying more items that I already don't have room to store. So any purchases that I make need to be really special, and thrifty, too. I had been hanging on to a Pier One gift card for a while, waiting for the perfect find. And did I ever find it! Here are my new red lanterns --
Oh happy day! They are so perfect for the rustic feel I was going for this year. They would look fabulous all glammed up, too.
Some fresh greenery, grapevines, and white lights are just simple and somewhat rustic. But I had to add a little sparkle, so in came some silver and mercury glass candleholders.
I can envision using these somewhere in our home or garden almost year-round. They are a wonderful price, too. Here's the link to the web page where they can be seen.
Here is a photo at night, the lights are so pretty

You did a beautiful job. I love the red lanterns and how you wove the lights in the evergreen branches. Lovely.

Great lanterns, Andrea! They were a good choice to use your gift card on! I'll bet you'll be able to use them all year, too. Your mantel is lovely. I had such a problem figuring out mine this year in our new place. Maybe I should get some mercury glass pieces. I think it would make it a lot easier for me to have it preplanned this year for next.

Beautiful! I love the laterns, and the way you have the grapevines wrapped around them, and of course the sparkle of silver! I'm now following!

I'm working at Pier One now - part time and I saw those lanterns. I love them. They almost made want to give up all my pink, silver and blue and go back to red. They look great on your mantel.
