Now that the turkey is carved, the pie is eaten and the dishes are cleaned up, it's time for our annual Haywood tradition -- turning on our Christmas lights. I'm sharing this week at French Country Cottage's Feathered Nest Friday and Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home.
Time for Charlie Brown Christmas, eating leftovers, and black Friday shopping! We'll be heading out early tomorrow, but not as early as some. I know stores are opening at 3 a.m., but Abby declared that 7:00 was plenty early for her.
Our lights are up, but we have a long way to go on Christmas decorating. There's more to do outside too -- don't you just love our Thanksgiving wreath mixed with the Christmas ones?! There will be plenty of time for that this weekend, as it's supposed to be gorgeous out, cool and sunny. We're getting our first freeze of the season, and those ferns are comin' inside! Somehow ferns don't really say "Christmas" to me anyway, even though this is the south.
We'll be picking out our Christmas tree tomorrow also, and Maurie can start on the 1,500 or so lights that we put on it every year. I'll be decking the halls from the other bazillion boxes of decorations that we drag down from the attic every year.
I hope you and your loved ones are enjoying your holiday traditions, also! I can't remember a year when I have looked forward more to seeing everyone's decorations, and sharing ours, also. It's going to be a fun month!
Please stop by and see Courtney for Feathered Nest Friday and Cindy for Show and Tell Friday. Have fun!
See you soon, xoxo, Andrea

Love your outside lights. Look forward to more of your decorations.

Your house is charming. Even more so with the Christmas lights. No early bird shopping for me. I'm taking the day off. :)

Your house looks delightfully festive! I put my ferns underneath the pavilion. Haven't gone out to see if they perished yet. Everything looks so cute framed with that picket fence!

"It’s 5 weeks to Christmas and I haven’t been feeling up to it for a few reasons:
1. It is just my sister and I and are too busy to fix the place.
2. My sister and I disagree on design ideas, plus she is never there when I want to talk about decorating the house for Christmas.
Christmas makes me realize that we have been rather selfish. It's the time of making people happy and giving back. I think after this blog I finally have the initiative to finally start decorating the house for Christmas."
